Laudato Si' Environment Centre Centenary Project - saving heritage, enabling change and building a sustainable future
The Laudato Si centenary project will capture how the natural heritage of Wardley Hall, in Salford, a National Monument and Grade 1 listed site, has been impacted by the industrial revolution and the modern age. It will increase levels of access, inclusion and participation to the site, model and share good environmental practice and protect and conserve heritage buildings. Our vision is to create a programme of collaborative, creative, investigative and intergenerational activities to mark the city of Salford’s centenary and record and showcase the natural heritage of the site while we re-vitalise dilapidated heritage buildings. The legacy of the project will be to create an all-weather home for the Laudato Si’ Environment Centre where we can work together with the people of Salford and Greater Manchester to further understand our heritage and increase skills, confidence, wellness and hope to support our transition to a more sustainable world.
