Historic Buildings
Light and Life For All
We would like to: 1. Restore the physical heritage of Holt Methodist Church. the church is of some significance, but aspects of its heritage have been poorly cared for in the past. 2. Reorder the church so that it is more suited to wider, flexible community use by a greater diversity of people. 3. Make the church more energy efficient. 4. We will engage with a variety of audiences locally, to open up the church and its heritage to a wider and more diverse audience, and creating opportunities for people to be in the church and learn about it. This will include, for example, younger people, older people, parents, Adult Learners, lonely and isolated people, bereaved people, people who struggle financially, schoolchildren. 5. Enhance the cultural uses of the church by working with other groups such as Holt Historical Society and Holt Festival. 6. Increase tourist traffic to the church and town, by investigating possible links to Walsingham, which is situated in a place of significant historical and religious interest, and a Methodist heritage trail with Walsingham Methodist Chapel and the East Anglia Methodist Heritage Centre in Wighton
