ArtsGroupie CIC are partnered with Liverpool Libraries and Information Services for a public exhibition of items relating to Liverpool's 250-year theatre history from the archive at Liverpool Record Office. The exhibition is funded by Liverpool Central Library. This tie-in project will include heritage walking tours of current and former theatre sites in Liverpool. The tours will finish at the exhibition helping to increase heritage engagement. We will collect theatre oral history from participants of the walking tours which will be displayed on a memory board at the exhibition. The project will also include community workshops on how to safely maintain and preserve historical items at home for items that Liverpool Record Office does not have the capacity to accept. Participants will be further engaged in the history through play-reading sessions of long forgotten historical plays in the theatre archive. For a project that will focus on interaction with heritage.
