Historic Buildings
Lincoln Cathedral Estate Masterplan and Conservation Management Plan
Through this project, Lincoln Cathedral plans to develop a comprehensive Estate Masterplan including Conservation Management Plan, that fully understands and respects the historic, architectural, and communal value of each building and space within the Close, while identifying opportunities for future uses that support both the conservation of the buildings, whilst enhancing the financial sustainability of the estate properties ingenerating unrestricted income in support of the wider organisational strategic objectives of the Dean and Chapter. The Estate Masterplan and Conservation Management Plan will act as working documents, ensuring that future development, maintenance, and investment across the estate is rooted in a deep understanding of the heritage and its significance. It will provide a shared framework for decision-making by the Cathedral’s Senior Leadership Team, helping with development of strategic partnerships, and enhanced understanding of the route map by local heritage conservation officers, enabling better stewardship of these important heritage assets.
