Llangollen Museum Survival and Heritage Sustainability Programme

Quite simply, our vision is to secure the survival of Llangollen Museum and the important collection of artefacts that it houses. We want to improve our sustainability, in order to ensure that all of the valuable resources (artefacts, displays, information and research material) will be available to community members, visitors, educational establishments and researchers well into the future. The essential replacement of the roof will allow the present building to continue to house the Museum collection and displays. The expansion of storage space, improvement of security and the upgrading of both visitor and volunteer facilities will improve sustainability via increased visitor numbers and revenues, as well as attracting more volunteer curators, hopefully boosted by more, younger, volunteers joining our Young Archaeologist’s Club. The legacy of this programme will be the continued local, easy and free access to the unique heritage of Llangollen and the surrounding area for generations to come.
