Historic Buildings
Llanthony Secunda Priory Trust will establish the long-term future for the Priory by securing funds to repair and restore the key components of the former priory. Exploratory works will continue to enhance understanding of both above and below ground structures and secure income streams developed to support the long term. Critically, future uses must be year-round, vibrant and self-sustaining, which may involve further links to Gloucestershire College and other stakeholders. Having successfully restored many of our buildings, supported principally by NLHF but also grants from Historic England and many smaller funders, we have stabilised Llanthony and it is becoming well-known as a site with significant heritage, exhibition and meeting spaces, entertainment areas and many community-based activities. Increased employee numbers and responsibilities will enable our board to become more strategic, working with a CEO and an increased team of operational staff to achieve board objectives.
