Making the White Lion Project Happen – a resilience review

Pailton Parish Council, and our community, is committed to saving the architectural and community heritage of the White Lion, a much loved Grade II listed 17th century former coaching inn, restoring; buildings, grounds, and establishing a sustainable community hub at the heart of the village. This resilience review will give cost certainty around the final budget, moving through RIBA stage 4, tendering/selecting the principal contractor. We will establish resilience by:- • Testing the business case against value engineering options. • Strengthening our digital footprint. • Researching business models for shop • Undertaking oral history interviews • Fundraising and investigating the Government’s new local funding priorities. • Strengthening our governance/capacity • Making emergency roof repair • Expanding our fundraising events, including heritage events • Raising our profile with potential funders Our legacy will be a thriving, sustainable community hub, celebrating/showcasing its heritage and providing stakeholders with assurance on risks and opportunities.
