Historic Buildings

Marks Tey: Stories and Spires

This project is about preserving the past and looking to the future. Repairs to the tower will ensure the church is both in good condition. Energy upgrades and improvements will reduce carbon emissions and our negative impact on the environment. An archiving project will ensure local records and collections are preserved and protected and made more accessible to visitors and people with an interest in heritage in Marks Tey. These various elements present exciting new opportunities for new people to be involved with the church and engage with its history, from children and young people, through to older people. By the end of the project our extensive archive of church and village heritage here in Marks Tey will be accessible to a much wider audience. We are excited to bring on new professionals to help us achieve this, expand our volunteer base, and increase awareness of this beautiful heritage building.
