Mixture150 - Phase 1 - Repair and Relaunch

Mixture150 (over 3 years: 2025-2028) honours & celebrates 150 years of Union Chapel's rare 1877 Father Henry Willis organ, its rich heritage & historical significance, with an innovative new audience development programme of school workshops, community access programmes, bold new contemporary compositions, traditional recitals & in-house tours including performances by renowned & developing artists & the post-Covid relaunch of Organ Reframed - a highly acclaimed, unique organ festival of local, national & international importance. This application: Phase 1 (25/26): -Vital & urgent repair of our organ, currently at risk, and initial stages of a community engagement programme in the build up to the 150th anniversary celebration promoting the organ's heritage, including: - School workshops - Organ lessons for communities normally without access/opportunities to heritage/organ/learning - University programme encouraging emerging musician engagement - Weekend workshops for female composers/organists - Recitals & performances & heritage tours including organ - Organ Scholarship
