Mortar the Point: rebuilding a wall and sharing skills at All Saints Milton

We need to rebuild part of the retaining wall to our churchyard, to preserve the historic boundary and make it structurally sound. The historic wall is part of the curtilage of the Grade ll* listed church and sits within a conservation area. It is in a state of partial collapse and being nearly a meter higher than the car park below is very dangerous. It will ensure safe access to the much-used church, church hall and churchyard for present and future generations. The project will teach local students heritage skills and enable church volunteers to learn how to maintain the wall. Media students will document the process, which can be used as a resource for building students to broaden their understanding and knowledge of heritage skills. Once completed the Eco church team can develop the planned contemplative wildflower area, part of the A Rocha gold award they are working towards.
