Museums for Nature

In the midst of a planetary emergency, the Natural History Museum (NHM) will use its expertise to support museums across the UK to make their grounds greener, richer and healthier places for everyone to enjoy. Innovative mapping technologies will enable museums to showcase what their site offers for nature and for people and use evidence to identify opportunities for enhancement and nature recovery. Through a peer support network and skills programme, we will equip museums with the knowledge and confidence to take nature-positive actions on their sites. Embedded throughout will be a commitment to local decision-making and community collaboration. Through collective action with the people who live and work in our communities, we will foster a greater sense of pride and ownership in local green spaces and inspire action towards a more hopeful future.
