Museums And Archives
New Earth Theatre’s (NET) 30th Anniversary Living Archive will be the first comprehensive resource mapping, through a British East and Southeast Asian (BESEA) lens, the changing UK arts landscape since 1995. It will recognise, celebrate and preserve the contribution of BESEA communities to British society, with 5 key outputs: -Oral history collection profiling 30 BESEA artists and community members central to shaping and sharing our narratives over 3 decades. -Multimedia (physical, digital) archive of NET’s theatre work, including a flagship BESEA play database. -Multimedia touring exhibition (nationwide) of highlights from the oral history collection and archive. -Publication of quotes and images from the oral history and archive. -“Activating Heritage” performance festival in London and Manchester (other funding). The archive and oral histories will be stored with the V&A museum and presented on our website, making them publicly accessible for the first time and inspiring new (BESEA) audiences and artists.
