Historic Buildings
Immanuel Church in Oswaldtwistle is a beautiful Grade II listed building. However, it is currently in critical condition, due to water ingress and rotting to the roofs. Vital restoration to the roof, rainwater goods, and windows is required to safeguard our historic fabric and ensure its continued use as a place of worship and community gathering. We are a well visited church and have lots of interest in our history, both within the building through our stained glass windows and organ, and in the churchyard with our graves. Whilst addressing the urgent repair needs, the project is also giving us opportunity to expand on some of the heritage engagement activities we already deliver, being able to offer a more in-depth experience to our visitors. The project will see our building in good condition and our heritage better explained, shared and enjoyed.
