Pip and Jim's West Wall Revive Project

St Philip and St James Church, known in Ilfracombe as ‘Pip and Jim’s’, is on the seafront. It has suffered from the effects of wind, rain and salt spray since it was built in 1856. The WEST WALL REVIVE PROJECT is the mid-point of our 6-phased restoration project. Our ambition, and our legacy for the people of Ilfracombe, is to give this Grade 2* building a further 100-year life. We want to repair the historic west wall and stunning stained-glass windows. We plan to enhance the west end social space to create an inclusive and inviting area for our needy community by improving disabled access and installing a kitchen servery. Our goal is to ‘breathe new life’ into our historic west wall. We are not just looking to preserve; we want to transform the space into a vibrant ‘café’ area and a point of community outreach.
