Pride, Passion and Skills - Made in Sheffield

The project aims to preserve Sheffield’s rich heritage of toolmaking and cutlery through digitisation, co-creation, and outreach, and by working closely with traditional manufacturing companies to support them to value and retain traditional skills and processes. It will save heritage by capturing people’s experiences and manufacturing processes before they are lost. Through digital catalogues, films, and interactive exhibitions, the Trust will ensure Sheffield’s manufacturing legacy remains relevant, accessible, and resilient for future generations. Inclusion, participation, and knowledge exchange are central, with activities for young people, company employees and their families, and for people in our more challenged communities around the museum. Co-creation will develop skills and engage people with the heritage. We will support environmental sustainability by showcasing sustainability in heritage manufacturing methods, promoting recycling, and by encouraging sustainable practices among volunteers and partners. Our organisational sustainability will be strengthened through governance reviews, volunteer recruitment, and through digital infrastructure upgrades.
