Historic Buildings
This project is for Phase 1 and 2 of major conservation works to two internationally important wall and ceiling paintings within the Great Hall and Saloon of Blenheim Palace. It will preserve and protect them, securing the condition of these critical elements of our UNESCO World Heritage Site for the benefit of our 1 million international visitors each year, as well as future generations. Coinciding with the repair and restoration of our Palace Roof, it provides an exceptional opportunity for collaboration with experts and institutions within conservation, incorporating the latest technologies and best practices to address the environmental challenges that have been detrimental to their condition. The project will also raise awareness of the importance of protecting cultural heritage, and, through new and established partnerships, foster public engagement with a more diverse audience by allowing for the exploration of themes within the artwork, which are of great relevance, today.
