Historic Buildings
St.Peter’s Church in Wymondham, Leicestershire is a Grade 1 listed church on Historic England’s At Risk Register (HaRR). By restoring the church and through heritage engagement activities we will be able to: 1. Undertake capital repairs to improve the condition of several roofs and the worsening tower ironstone, so the building can be removed from the HaRR. 2. Bring an appreciation of the historical importance of this building and the features contained therein, encouraging a wider audience to learn about St Peter’s, as both historic church building and valued community asset. 3. Maintain and nurture close links to St. Peter’s CofE school in Wymondham to educate children about the heritage of the building. 4. Ensure the church is fit for purpose to continue as a sustainable place of worship for the local community and beyond, and continue as the centre of the community for baptisms, confirmations, weddings and funerals/thanksgiving services.
