Realising the potential of the Conflict & Legacy Interpretive Network

This application is being made on behalf of the Conflict and Legacy Interpretive Network, which aims to connect museums and heritage organisations actively engaged in conflict and legacy issues. The primary objective of the network is to promote, acknowledge and respect different perspectives on the recent conflict in and about Northern Ireland, commonly known as 'the Troubles'. To date, the network has focused on relationship building and developing a new website, https://conflictlegacy.org, which serves as a central resource. This initial phase was enabled by the Esmée Fairburn Collections Fund (now concluded). The proposed project aims to strengthen and consolidate the network through the appointment of a three-year Project Coordinator position. A programme budget has also been built into this application to further support relationship building and to widen and deepen the scope of engagement, with the aim of becoming an exemplar for open and ethical dialogue around contested history.
