Historic Buildings
St Mary’s Church, Marshfield is a Grade II* listed building of significant heritage interest, located within the unique Gwent Levels. Through this project, we aim to secure the long-term future of the church by restoring key heritage features, improving accessibility, and deepening its role as a place of welcome, music, and community. We will conserve the fabric of the building, enhance facilities to support wider and more inclusive use, and celebrate local heritage through music and storytelling. Building on recent growth in attendance, giving, and community engagement, we hope to create a sustainable future rooted in the past. Our vision is for a renewed St Mary’s: a living heritage space at the heart of Marshfield. A place where history and community meet; where ancient stones speak to new generations; and where people of all ages can gather, learn, and belong.
