Historic Buildings

Renovate, Refresh, and Reimagine - phase 1

The Sir John Moore Foundation Museum would like to achieve three things: Preserve the building in a state that befits its Grade 1 listed status and its standing in the community, make the museum and as much of the building as possible accessible to all, and ensure the financial viability of the charity. We would like to achieve all these things in a way that is as environmentally friendly as possible. If we are successful in this round of funding, we will commission several reports. We would like to find out how much work is needed to restore the whole of the building, including areas that were not included in previous restoration schemes. Restoring these areas will help with accessibility and the environmental viability of the site. We would also like to explore practical, possibly unusual, ways of making the museum and site more accessible.
