Reordering the West End of St Mary's Church.

St Mary the Virgin Church, Finedon, a Grade I listed building dating from 1350, seeks to secure its long-term future by revitalising its role in the local community through a sensitive and carefully designed reordering of the West End of the Church. The Church currently has no dedicated hall space and limited facilities for community use. This project will transform the West End into a flexible, accessible, multi-use community space incorporating a servery, modern toilet facilities including a fully accessible WC, baby-changing facilities, and improved wheelchair access. By removing physical and practical barriers to access, the project will ensure that the Church and its nationally significant heritage are welcoming, relevant and actively used by parishioners and the wider community of Finedon for generations to come. The project will significantly increase community engagement, extend outreach to new audiences and enable the Church to function as a truly inclusive community heritage space.
