Historic Buildings
This project will tackle substantial threats to the very fabric of our historic Grade 1 listed building which occupies a site of major heritage significance from Roman Londinium to the present day. Through urgent roof and stonework repair it will preserve the significant heritage of one of London’s most important sites for future generations. Interim repairs (most recently at a cost of £43,380) are no longer sufficient; posing a threat both to the physical heritage itself and to the long-term financial sustainability of St Bride’s, impacting the wide range of community and public benefit we deliver each year. The project will enable us to continue to offer 7 day a week free access into the church and crypt museum. The project will engage new audiences within our changing community by creating pathways to participation in our future plans through digital outputs and creative engagement/ consultation activity tied to this project.
