Resilience through ongoing austerity: Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service

Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service is seeking to improve the reach, effectiveness and sustainability of its work for and with communities. This project will enable us to upskill staff, overhaul our volunteer programme and create audience development and publicity plans. Together, this work will help us to move towards a proactive plan for engaging communities, increasing the diversity of recorded heritage and improving the accessibility of Worcestershire’s heritage. As a Worcestershire County Council service, WAAS is uniquely positioned to record, protect and share local heritage. All Worcestershire communities deserve to be represented within and have access to this heritage. At the same time, an increase in external income and financial stability are necessary for our non-statutory community services to continue. This project will support WAAS to address both challenges and establish a clear path for sustained, long-term progress.
