Historic Buildings
The project focuses on the restoration of Swanspool Pavilion and Gardens. Originally gifted to the town in 1919 by a local philanthropist, the gardens were intended as a space for public enjoyment. However, the site has fallen into disrepair. Now under the ownership of Wellingborough Town Council, we will restore the pavilion and surrounding gardens, reviving them as a valued heritage asset for inclusive and sustained community use. We will refurbish the Pavilion by reintroducing Art Deco features, laying new flooring, new lighting and modernising the bathrooms. Damaged and decayed elements—such as broken doors, windows, and the Perspex veranda roof—will be replaced for authenticity. Garden pathways will be repaired. Energy-efficient blinds will be installed, while security will be enhanced through CCTV and timed gates. A project manager will be appointed to oversee delivery. This will ensure the pavilion is restored for public benefit, heritage appreciation, and future community use.
