Historic Buildings
Our project aims to conserve and restore St Peter in Chains, an A-listed church and much-loved Ardrossan landmark, safeguarding it as an important part of the town’s heritage. Ardrossan faces significant challenges linked to deprivation, and we want this restoration to be a catalyst for positive change. Guided by our 3-year Our Heritage, Our Future Action Plan prepared with the assistance of Keep Scotland Beautiful, we’ll use the church’s renewal to strengthen partnerships with local organisations, foster community engagement, and create opportunities for a wider range of people to connect with history, share stories, build skills, improve wellbeing, confidence, and sense of belonging. Alongside heritage activities, we’ll embed sustainability by delivering climate-focused workshops, events, and engaging content across newsletters, social media, and our website. The project will celebrate local identity, strengthen pride in place and deliver lasting social and environmental benefit.
