Historic Buildings
Through creative collaboration, community research, and inclusive engagement, we aim to reconnect people with Trowell’s unique heritage, build local pride, and promote sustainability. We will restore the Grade II* listed Trowell Church Tower in time for the 75th anniversary of the Festival of Britain, bringing its historic bells back to life. Working together with Nottingham Trent University and Foxwood Academy (our local SEN school), we will create inclusive virtual access to the tower, ensuring everyone can explore its heritage. We will rewild part of the churchyard to support biodiversity and apply for the Bronze Eco Church Award. A youth-led challenge badge—developed with Trowell Village School and Trowell Guides—will link STEM, culture, and environmental learning. This project will increase visitors, strengthen community identity, and ensure the tower remains a beacon of access, learning, and celebration for future generations.
