RVH 125
Belfast Trust will build upon the rich but neglected legacy of the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) to restore a sense of pride and create new connections for staff, service users and visitors. People across Belfast and beyond have a connection to this extraordinary place. Providing healthcare continuously for over 100 years, ‘the Royal’ has been the site of joy and heartbreak, the centre of momentous upheavals and the backdrop to everyday life for generations. ‘RVH 125’ will unlock storytelling and memories, connecting our vast but untapped material archive with stories from a wide range of participants. It will catalyse broader placemaking plans centred on the historic Victorian Corridor. With a diverse workforce of more than 20,000 people, Belfast Trust has deep connections throughout the city. This project will enhance these connections, fostering public engagement with our heritage in the lead-up to the Royal’s 125th anniversary on the Grosvenor Road.
