Overall Aims: - Improving the physical space - Protecting the collection - Strengthening governance, staff and volunteer capacity - Developing the 'offer' through engagement activity, community space, shop and cafe - Securing long term financial resilience Bring Saddleworth Museum back to the Heart of our community, increase volunteers, diversify the Trustees and audience. Shape the Museum forward plan through engagement and participation of local groups and businesses using the collection and artefacts inside and outside the building. Repair a section of the Museum to safeguard collection, re-introduce community art groups and reinvigorate the Museum. Replace the aged kitchen to a commercial spec. for greater community use and financial sustainability. Enhance governance framework, increasing numbers and diversity of Trustees, using Museum Association 'best practice' and skilled facilitation.
