Historic Buildings
Our proposed project has three strands: Although we have been able to raise funds to erect a protective scaffold, the roof remains at imminent risk. We will commission the conservation of the roof, thatch and timbering, stabilisation of wall tops and chimneys, making safe the cottage. Alongside, we will continue to engage our communities, partners and stakeholders, to develop a long term, viable, plan for the cottage. We will consult and engage people through pilot activities and volunteering, guided by our audience development plan, and carry out a full options appraisal. We will appoint a team to develop RIBA1 proposals for this new way forward, its costs and risks. Throughout, we will continue to develop the governance and capacity of the trust, representative of the diversity of our communities, so that we are fit for the long term project of the full conservation and long term care of the cottage.
