Saving Jacobs Wells Baths (JWB) is an ambitious restoration project to transform the Grade II former Victorian bathhouse in Hotwells into a vibrant multi-use cultural heritage hub for Central Bristol. Building on Phase 1 Repairs, this project focuses on Phase 2 Renovations & Improvements to reopen JWB as a vibrant and accessible hub for youth, arts, community and education. Safeguard a significant cultural heritage asset, ensuring the structural architecture is preserved and restored Re-imagine key areas of the building to improve functionality and accessibility for diverse stakeholders through multi-use occupancy Provide an inclusive venue for youth and community service anchor tenants; a vital resource in an area with limited secular community spaces Incorporate sustainability measures including JWB’s natural water spring as a heat source to limit environmental impact of site operations. Deliver an economy of scale to ensure financial viability of two publicly owned heritage sites, modelling best practice for heritage asset guardianship. Activate a programme of public engagement activities to contextualize JWB’s civic and dance history within Bristol’s wider social heritage, enhancing public awareness of its national significance
