Saving Sacrewell’s Farmhouse and Understanding its Potential

The 18th-century Grade II listed farmhouse at Sacrewell has stood vacant for 13 years and is now in poor condition, along with the surrounding dry-stone walling. By the end of the project we will understand what repairs are required to restore and conserve the farmhouse and walls. We will have surveys, a condition report, and costed options appraisal identifying potential uses for the building. We will know what we need to do to protect the environment, enhance biodiversity and physical access. We plan to consult with statutory bodies, current and potential visitors. A governance review, upskilling of trustees and staff, operational business plan and fundraising plan are further legacies. The project forms a vital step in securing the long-term future of this important heritage asset and supporting the financial sustainability of The William Scott Abbott Trust. By doing so, we aim to safeguard Sacrewell’s legacy for future generations.
