Historic Buildings
Our primary objective is to the repair of the roof, rainwater goods and interior sofits of our Grade II* listed parish church. The repairs are overdue and need addressing to prevent further deterioration. Generations of local farming families are buried in the churchyard. We want to repair and restore the building so it is saved for future generations. We also want to ensure a greater sense of local ownership of the building and explore connections between the church and community's heritage and history. To that end we want to organise an oral history project led by the Oral History Society (OHS) working in partnership with our local primary school to bring wider community engagement and capture and preserve our local history. We aim to continue developing the site to ensure sustainable community use in the future.
