We will fully catalogue the Co-operative College Collection, digitise photographs, collect oral history interviews, develop outreach activities, identify conservation needs undertake evaluation to create and promote a resource for researchers, academics, co-operators, and the wider community. This will ensure the ongoing preservation of this unique resource for future generations. The Co-op College archive is a unique historical record with diverse different stories to uncover. We will undertake community scanning sessions, workshops, collect stories, have talks and create an exhibition. The project will encourage interaction from academic and non-academic audiences. Volunteers will be given opportunities to undertake heritage tasks and improve skills. They will interview, support events and co-curate the exhibition. The increased participation will help develop deeper knowledge of the material and promote the history of education within the co-operative movement from the late 19th century to the present day to new audiences as part of our future strategy.
