“Seeing Nature, Shaping Culture: Art and Identity in Prehistory”

Through “Seeing Nature, Shaping Culture: Art and Identity in Prehistory”, Celtic Harmony Camp aims to produce a two-year programme of exhibitions which will intend to deepen public understanding of how nature and cultural exchange shaped life in Prehistoric Britain. Building on 25 years of heritage work, the project will create a new exhibition room in the newly built Prehistory Centre developing a dynamic space hosting museum loans, community-curated displays, and interactive community events. By connecting local artefacts, such as the Hitchin Beaker, to wider European stories of migration, identity, and creativity, we will make complex histories accessible and relevant to today’s audiences. The project seeks to inspire dialogue about cultural diversity and environmental awareness through art, archaeology, and storytelling. Ultimately, it will strengthen Celtic Harmony’s sustainability, expand participation to a wider audience, and celebrate our 25th anniversary with a legacy of inclusion, engagement, and renewed appreciation of Britain’s Prehistoric heritage.
