This project will: - Empower 32 Deaf, Disabled, and Neurodivergent (DDN) creatives to interpret museum spaces and collections through film and video art. - Enable their work to reach audiences both within and beyond museums. - Inspire other museums to adopt similar initiatives. - Pioneer methods for system-change, leading to better representation of DDN voices in museums. Our partner will be Great North Museum, Hancock (GNM), and the project will build on the two Heritage Fund-supported projects we have done with them to-date. In year two, we will share activity templates of our work with the wider Tyne & Wear Museums family, thereby embedding good practice. The legacy will be that 30 staff from across Tyne & Wear Museums (including GNM) will become more confident in engaging DDN creatives with practical processes. This will be evidenced through an increase in targeted activity, and number of DDN creatives taking part.
