This project will increase awareness of, access to, and engagement with the collections of South Pennine Archives which is a partnership between the archives of Pennine Heritage and Hebden Bridge Local History Society. The project aims to deliver: 1. A new easy-to-use website offering copies of 30,000 historic local images and meeting Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. 2. Reduction of risk to the image collections by developing new content management exports to the website. 3. Digitising and adding to the website 11,500 natural history species observation records dating from 1870 to the 1950s, plus other documents to inform users about the landscape, industrial and social history of the area. 4. Preservation and conservation of the entrance areas of the Birchcliffe Centre, a grade II listed building, to create the first museum in Hebden Bridge as well as an exhibition area to showcase artefacts, documents and images from the archives.
