St Catherine's Church, Drayton - re roofing the north slope of the nave, and associate community engagement

This project is aimed at re-roofing the north slope of the nave of the Church, thought to have been last done at least a hundred years ago. The slates of this part of the roof are now life expired and are failing, leading to water ingress. Re-roofing will ensure that the roof is watertight for the next hundred or so years. In parallel with the building works are a number of activities aimed at engaging with the local community, with the intention of giving local people (many of whom would not otherwise even enter the Church) the opportunity to come in and see this important building in the heart of their village and understand how it fits into the history and heritage of the area.
