St Cuthbert’s Clungunford Bell-tower repair project.

This project aims to carry out essential repairs to the bell-tower of St Cuthbert’s Church, Clungunford. Our goal is to secure the building in a safe and stable condition for continued community use—now and for future generations. The tower was added to this medieval church in the 19th Century and over the years has developed major cracks in the masonry allowing the ingress of rainwater. In addition a recent survey revealed that the roof timbers are rotting, causing clay tiles to slip and allowing water to leak into the bell chamber. By acting now, we aim to halt further deterioration, protect the historic bells and their frames, and avoid escalating repair costs in the future.
