St Germans Priory - planning for a sustainable future

The goal of our project is to develop a comprehensive strategy for the development of the Priory to sustain and develop its long-term use. Key needs are: Conserving the listed fabric Reducing heat loss Installing low-carbon heating, lighting and sound Better facilities, including access, kitchen and toilets This builds on a Priory-led Arts Council England funded project to develop ‘South East Cornwall Arts’ as a marketing hub for high quality events. Given the Priory's heritage and cultural significance as the site of Cornwall’s original Cathedral, and its Grade 1 listed status, accurate baseline information and specialist advice is required. The study will: survey the current condition of the assets and site; develop costed options for improved facilities and services; consult the community, stakeholders and potential audiences; enhance interpretation and visitor engagement; develop an outline business plan and capital funding plan to demonstrate long term financial sustainability.
