Historic Buildings
St Johns Church tombs, railings and gates restoration project
We would like to restore 24 listed tombs within the St Johns Church grounds, in Slimbridge, to conserve history for future generations of the parish and all those that visit. We want the legacy of these tombs to thrive within the community, some of which stretch over centuries of generations and have significant historical interest. As part of the churchyard, the iron railings and grand entrance iron gates are also listed, and after surviving intact after WW2, these require restoration as part of this project too.
