Historic Buildings
In undertaking the roof repairs, our objective is to achieve a watertight and sustainable building which will better withstand the rigours of climate change and enable us to achieve better control of humidity and temperature in the internal environment which will impact less on the heritage assets within the building and the fabric of the building itself. It will also make the building more comfortable for its users and visitors and, thus, more accessible. For too long, degradation of the ferrous fixings to the roof slates and the lack of a breathable membrane has caused problems; by resolving this, the life span of the church building should be extended; it should become more welcoming for all; the speed of deterioration of its historic features will be reduced and the story of St. Levan can be secured for future generations.
