Historic Buildings

St Martin-in-the-Fields at 300

We will celebrate 300 years of St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, a Grade I listed building and architectural gem in the heart of London. • Collaboration: this project will bring together the diverse communities associated with St Martin’s, e.g the Chinese community and the International Group of refugees, through the common ground of our shared heritage. • Participation: the wider St Martin’s community will be central to creating an exhibition, audio guide, online content and an outreach programme, participating through advisory roles, volunteering and contributing new content. • Preserving heritage: through display and sharing we will demonstrate the significance of our church building in the life of our local community and as a symbol of national importance, including protecting heritage that may otherwise be lost, e.g. reminiscences • Increase public engagement with our heritage in the longer term by providing quality historical interpretation both onsite and online, and through outreach programmes.
