This project aims to evaluate the potential for redeveloping St Michael’s Presbytery, a Grade II* listed building, into a vibrant space that preserves its heritage while addressing local needs. As Phase 1 of a wider redevelopment initiative, this project will assess the building’s structural condition, explore viable future uses, and engage the community to ensure their voices shape the vision. By providing a clear roadmap for repair and sustainable reuse, this feasibility study lays the groundwork for transforming the presbytery into a dynamic space that serves as a catalyst for regeneration in Elswick. Furthermore, this project will demonstrate the power of collaborative planning to inspire further investment and social cohesion.
