Historic Buildings

St Peter's Church Community Partnership. Bringing the history of our local community under one roof.

The members of St Peter’s Church in Hartshorne aim to transform the church into a central hub, preserving and showcasing the history of both the village and the church itself. We envision attracting visitors to learn about the building’s rich heritage and development over the centuries. The flexible space, which can accommodate up to 200 people, makes it ideal for a variety of events, including educational programmes for local schools and special occasions. Additionally, we seek to expand the use of the church tower, currently used for bell ringing, by offering lessons to younger generations, preserving this traditional skill. While we have strong ties with a local history group - Sharpe's Pottery, bell ringers, and schools, the project requires funding to protect the church building and create a vibrant learning environment. This will ensure the church remains a valuable resource for the community and future generations.
