Historic Buildings
Our project will save heritage at risk by rescuing and restoring an 18th-century wall monument, which is currently at serious risk of collapse. By dismantling, conserving and reinstating the monument, alongside essential fabric works to address damp, we will safeguard the historic interior of our church for future generations. St Stephen’s sits at the heart of the small border village of Old Radnor. It is valued as a place of worship and community building for the local population, and as a historic attraction for the many visitors to the local area. The project will not only save heritage; it will enable more people to connect with it, through a consultation-informed activity programme and new, accessible interpretation. An experienced Project Coordinator will support delivery and strengthen organisational capacity to ensure the project’s legacy: a conserved monument, a more welcoming visitor experience, and a renewed interest in St Stephen’s’ heritage.
