Historic Buildings
The PCC of St Thomas’s Clapton is committed to making positive steps towards securing the fabric of its historic church. Through this project it will be enabling, in due course, its removal from the Heritage at Risk Register- and meeting its legal obligations under a section 215 notice. We will honour a Hackney Community Energy Fund Feasibility Grant, developing a route plan to Net Zero, and feeding findings into linked pieces of work. In addition, the PCC aims to enhance its resilience, by planning a sustainable future- and undertaking key pieces of work to support the initial stage of a major capital repair project. Through enticing engagement activities, the PCC also aims to support the social fabric of this pocket of Northeast Hackney, bringing people together to engage in and share the story behind the history of the church, and its close relationship to Clapton Terrace and the wider area.
