Historic Buildings
Stixwould Village Hall CIO was created in 2022 to plan the restoration of the hall for continued use by our community. A condition survey in 2022 indicated that extensive repair work is needed to prevent further deterioration of this unique Victorian asset and to comply with modern building standards. Modernised and more accessible facilities are essential to supporting continued and diversified use of the space, which already hosts a range of activities including social and recreational events, election polling and local fundraising. Not only would diversified use supported by improved facilities safeguard the building through continued care, maintenance and income, but would further support the wellbeing of residents and social cohesion of the surrounding area. We also wish to undertake a series of heritage activities which tell the story of the village of Stixwould and its links to military, ecclesiastic and social history.
