Stoke Damerel Church (St Andrew with St Luke) : new roof to 15th century bell tower and other roof maintenance plus installation of replacement louvres in bell tower.

Stoke Damerel Church is a Grade 2* listed building in Plymouth, Devon. Essential roof repairs are required to preserve its structural integrity and heritage value. With funding from the NLHF, we aim to achieve three key outcomes: -Preserve a Significant Heritage Asset: The church is a place of worship and also a cherished architectural and historical landmark within the community. Repairing the roof is crucial to halting further deterioration, protecting original features and ensuring the building remains safe, dry and accessible for future generations. -Broaden Community Engagement: By restoring the roof, the building can continue as a vibrant space for community activities/events without leaks causing disruption. -Strengthen Sustainability for the Future: A sound roof will enable us to develop the church’s broader community role. This project supports our long-term goal of maintaining the church as a self-sustaining, inclusive community hub without compromising it as a place of worship.
