Stoke-on-Trent Centenary Restoration Fund for Small Heritage Assets

2025 marks the centenary of Stoke-on-Trent being granted city status. This milestone provides a significant opportunity for celebrating the city’s historic past as well as looking forward to its future heritage legacy. Within this context, this proposed partnership between Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the city’s heritage development trust Re-Form Heritage will focus on reanimating the public realm through the conservation, restoration, and reinterpretation of small heritage assets across the city. The funding will support both community engagement and delivery programmes, helping to build a community sense of ownership towards these assets and encourage active community heritage placemaking. The Project partners will work with local communities, voluntary organisations, and heritage stakeholders to deliver a collaborative programme that will seek to combine restoration of small heritage assets with building the capacity, skills, and expertise of local communities to conserve heritage and placing residents at the heart of heritage asset interpretation.
