SUSTAIN:ENGAGE

SUSTAIN:ENGAGE is dedicated to forging meaningful connections within our community and honouring GHAT's 40-year legacy. We will invite our community to help us design accessible interpretation so more people can connect with our distinctive art collection exhibited across public healthcare venues in the northeast. This initiative will champion the concept of an inclusive, accessible art collection in a setting faced with numerous inequalities and barriers to participation. In collaboration with our audience, cultural, heritage, and health partners, we will develop organisational systems tailored for operating in challenging public environments, reinforcing our resilience and sustainability. The project aims to strengthen ties with artists and third-sector partners, enhancing the representation of artists with protected characteristics. The enduring impact of our work will be the establishment of a more accessible and inclusive art collection, enriched by community-driven interactive interpretation, durable and sustainable operational systems, and an upskilled workforce of curators and heritage leaders.
